Le rappeur américain 50 Cent a signé pour apparaître dans un nouveau film qui se passe dans le monde du poker professionnel, affirme-t-on.

Selon un rapport publié sur terra.com, le rappeur – dont le vrai nom est Curtis Jackson – jouera aux côtés de l’acteur Benicio Del Toro, qui a été récompensé par un Oscar, et les musiciens porto-ricains populaires que sont Wisin et Yandel.

David Maldonado, qui a co-produit le film El Cantante de Jennifer Lopez en 2006, devrait réaliser ce film qui sera tourné à Porto Rico.

50 Cent a fait ses débuts au cinéma dans le film Get Rich or Die Tryin’ en 2005. Il devrait aussi apparaître dans 13, un remake du film français 13 Tzameti, qui devrait sortir l’année prochaine.

Le film fait parti de plusieurs nouveaux projets autour du poker, qui devraient sortir sous peu, alors que Matt Damon a récemment laissé entendre que la suite du film tant apprécié qu’est Rounders pourrait bientôt arriver sur les écrans.

Damon, qui jouait aux côtés d’Edward Norton dans le film de 1998, a déclaré à Pokerlistings.com que l’équipe d’origine avait très envie de se réunir à nouveau pour tourner une suite, à condition qu’un bon script se présente.

De plus, le scénariste d’origine David Levien a confirmé qu’avec son partenaire Brian Koppleman, ils étaient en train de travailler sur des idées pour Rounders 2.
